Welcome to Loch Sunart Yarns & Buttons

Loch Sunart Yarns & Buttons is located on the remote Ardnamurchan peninsula on the West Coast of Scotland and commands a beautiful position over-looking Loch Sunart.

The business has been created to offer a range of exotic hand spun fibre, hair and wool yarns for knitting in a selection of natural colours. The yarns are spun either 100% pure or with a blend of tussah or mulberry silk, giving a beautiful sheen and texture. The aim has been to produce an unusual range of yarns with which to create your very own unique and individual knitwear. Of course, you do not have to buy a large quantity of yarn – many people often just use a few hanks for intarsia work, combining the hand spun yarn alongside commercial knitting wools to create a more unusual texture and design.

For those hand spinners out there who would like to have a go spinning these fibres for themselves, I can also supply some of the raw fibres and fleeces unspun.

To complement the range of yarns Loch Sunart Yarns & Buttons also offers a range of buttons in shell and horn – all in natural colours and unusual shapes and sizes. The quality of these buttons will make all the difference when finishing off a garment.
